Chilika:  A ceremonial parade was held at INS Chilka on 26 January 23 to commemorate India’s 74th Republic Day. Cmde NP Pradeep, Naval Officer-in-Charge (Odisha) and Commanding Officer, INS Chilka laid a wreath at War Memorial followed by review of parade comprising of Naval personnel and jawans of the Defence Security Corps.

On this occasion, the Commanding Officer also awarded Proficiency Certificates to sailors who have performed proficiently towards the preparation and training of the first batch of Agniveers. In his address, he urged all personnel to keep their moral high and rededicate themselves to the service of the nation.

The Commanding Officer also unfurled the National flag at Naval Kindergarten School as part of Republic Day celebrations. A naval contingent from Chilka also participated in the parade at Bhubaneswar, which was reviewed by Shri Ganeshi Lal, Governor of Odisha.
