You could be a professional photographer or an amateur. Just click any image of India’s cultural heritage and share the same with the Ministries Tourism and Culture.
There is every possibility that your photo could make you proud and known as one of the winners of the week-long prestigious and open contest conducted by both the Ministries.
A brain-child of Prahlad Singh Patel who heads both the Ministries, the week-long heritage photography contest – that commenced coinciding with the World Photography Day celebrations – has invited common people to participate in this unique contest that aims at highlighting India’s glorious cultural heritage captured through the camera.
“I urge all photographers to take pictures of our ancient heritage and tag Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Culture; so that they can share it on social media platforms with your names,” the Minister has tweeted.
Aptly titled as YeMeraIndia, the contest would continue till August 25.
The minister has invited all photographers, professional or amateur, to click the best images of the country’s cultural heritage and share it with #YeMeraIndia while tagging the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Tourism.
The selected photos would be duly highlighted on social media platforms of the Ministries with due credit to the person behind the lens, the Ministry officials have explained.
The photos can also be mailed at [email protected], they added.
The contest has been envisioned to offer opportunities to every citizen of the country to highlight unprotected heritage sites of their native land, said the officials handling the programme.
The week-long heritage photography contest follows the recently hosted Swadheenta Ke Rang (colours of freedom) series where the Ministry of Culture shared videos by celebrated artistes like Sarod maestro Amjad Ali Khan, Indian classical dance exponent Sonal Mansingh and Bollywood playback singer Nitin Mukesh on its social media platform.
