What happens when a parliamentarian defends Nathuram Godse as a ‘ patriot’ or a group raises chants over freedom saying ‘ Jinha-wali azaadi’
Even nothing happens when a MP tries to reduce the freedom struggle led by Mahatma Gandhi was just a ‘ drama’ or Mahatma a dramatist.
‘Desh ki gaddaro ko’…’Goli maro’ or Shaheen Bagh represents an ideology having its roots in Pakistan.
A chief minister of a state described as a ‘ terrorist’ yet no reason why he still rules or another MP express his vent saying ‘ protesters at Shaeen Bagh should be shot at sight’
One leader from the BJP in West Bengal has the audacity to say ‘why the women and children sitting in Shaheen Bagh are not dying of cold’!
The other spreads the fear that, if these people on protest are not checked, they can barge in to your houses and outrage the modesty of ‘your mothers and sisters’ and so on.
And all those things simply go down under-written in the annals of the politics of the day, just reducing politics to nothing but a game of hunt the hypocrites in politics.
If these politicians, who are crazy to preach something, that they never practise, do always think they are above the rest.
So the narrative called as the appropriation of nationalism has been subjected to the rudest ever shock in Indian politics.
It is difficult to assess who is nationalist and who is not. With the notional interpretations over CAA-NRC etc having gone pan-India, still there is a conscious attempt to wage a war of arrogance, rather joyously, no matter what happens.
After hearing what is being said about a man like the Mahatma Gandhi, the nationalistic celebrations are slowly getting meaningless. And the Indian-ness that was being highlighted all these years has been hijacked by the politicians those who go ceaselessly un-probed.
