Curfew Imposed in Cuttack: A curfew has been imposed in Cuttack from 10 pm tonight following violent clashes that erupted during the Cuttack Maa Durga Bhasani celebrations. The announcement was made by the Cuttack-Bhubaneswar Commissionerate Police, with Police Commissioner Debdutt Singh confirming that the restrictions will remain in force for the next 36 hours.

According to police sources, the curfew covers major areas including Dargah Bazaar, Lalbag, Marrkat Nagar, Mangalbagh, Purighat, Bidanasi, CDA Phase-2, Malgodam, Cantonment, Jagatpur, Bayalishimouja, Badambadi, and Sadar Thana. Internet services have also been suspended in these regions to prevent the spread of misinformation and maintain law and order.

Despite the restrictions, authorities have clarified that essential services will remain operational, and offices and schools will continue to function as usual.

The curfew follows a violent clash between two groups that broke out around midnight on Maa Durga Bhasani day, leaving several people injured. As tensions continued to escalate despite police intervention, authorities decided to impose curfew to restore normalcy and ensure public safety.
