DGAFMS visits INS Chilka: Lt Gen Daljit Singh, AVSM, VSM, PHS, DGAFMS and Sr Col Comdt of the Army Medical Corps visited INS Chilka and INHS Nivarini from 24-26 Aug 24. The DGAFMS was briefed on the pivotal role played by INS Chilka in shaping the future sea warriors of the Indian Navy.
The briefing encompassed a comprehensive insight of training activities undertaken during 16 weeks ab-initio training and initiatives taken to achieve optimal physical conditioning of Agniveers. He interacted with Cmde B Deepak Aneel, Commanding Officer, INS Chilka and the training faculty. To gain insight into Agniveer training in the Navy, DGAFMS took a short tour of the training infrastructure.
He also visited INHS Nivarini, the service hospital located at the Naval Base Chilka and was briefed about the medical facilities and services available to the trainees and the station community. During his address, DGAFMS laid emphasis on training and medical care, reinforcing the commitment of Indian Armed Forces to maintain the highest standards of readiness and welfare for its personnel.
