Election Result 2023: Counting of votes for Assembly elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Telangana is underway. The latest trends available show that the BJP has taken a clear lead in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhatisgarh. The Congress is ahead in Telangana. Counting for Mizoram Assembly will be taken up on Monday.
In Rajasthan, voting was held in 199 out of 200 constituencies. Election Commission has postponed the polls in one assembly seat following the death of a candidate. So far BJP has won on 23 seats and is leading on 91. The Congress has taken 11 seats and is leading on 59. Bharat Adiwasi party has claimed one seat and leading on 2. Others have won on 2 seats and leading on 10.
Former Union Minister and BJP leader Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore has won in Jhotwara constituency by over 48 thousand votes over his nearest rival. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is leading in Sardarpura Assembly constituency with over 26 thousand votes. Congress leader Sachin Pilot is leading in Tonk assembly seat with over 29 thousand votes. Rajasthan Assembly Speaker C.P Joshi is trailing behind his BJP rival Vishvaraj Singh Mewar in Nathdwara seat.
In Madhya Pradesh, Manju Rajendra Dadu has won the Nepanagar Continuency. Trends are available for all other 229 seats. Ruling BJP has won 7 seats and is leading in 159 seats, Congress has won 1 seat and leading in 61. 1 seat has gone to others.
Chief Minister and BJP leader Shivraj Singh is ahead from Budhni seat by over 95 thousand votes. Union Ministers Narendra Singh Tomar and Prahlad Patel are also leading. Congress leader and former Chief Minister Kamal Nath is leading in Chhindwara.
In Chhattisgarh, trends are available for all 90 seats. BJP is leading in 53 constituencies, Congress in 35 and others in 2.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is leading in Patan constituency with over 1 Lakh votes. Former Chief Minister and BJP leader Raman Singh is leading in Rajnandgaon seat. Deputy Chief Minister T S Singhdeo is trailing by over 8 thousand votes in Ambikapur.
In Telangana, Congress has so far won 17 seats and leading in 53. BRS has won 5 and leading in over 30 seats. BJP has won on 1 seat so far and MIM on 3.
Meanwhile, the BJP candidate K Venkatramana Reddy of BJP is leading by slender margin in Kamareddy against Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. He is leading in Gajwel. However, the BRS is in leading in most of the 15 seats in Hyderabad district. PCC Chief Revanth Reddy leading in both Kodangal. Other two Congress MPs Uttam Kumar Reddy, K Venkat Reddy are in leading while three BJP MPs, Sanjaya Kumar, Aravind and Soyam Bapurao are trailing. (AIR)
