Who says that there is no freedom of expression and who says there is a decline in the democracy in India under the present dispensations?

Someone says Assam ko Tukde kardenge(split Assam)  or Assam ko alag kardenge(will cede Assam from India). What comes from the other side of the fence is no less bad.

A BJP MP and cabinet minister said that, the ‘traitors should be gunned down’ and another says, Saheen Bagh shall be wiped out if BJP comes to power in Delhi.

All is well and, the ones who abandon such scary one-liners , are there, safe and hogging headlines.

Complaints with the police or a slew of harangues in television debates are temporary butts  those die down soon and people forget.

Amid the panicky cries emerging from various spectrums, the most  fiery word is ‘azadi’. The word could not have been more abused than it is today.

Azadi from certain ideology or azadi from a particular school of thought, are all about  the politics of the day roves around.

In fact, the cycle of such venomous interjections from the privileged lot apparently hides underneath the most disturbing and self-denigrating intents.

The scenario, clearly, show that, there is a dangerous slugfest between a Hindu nationalist group and an anti-Hindu nationalist outfits.

Undermining of the democratic fabrics under certain Congress rules were no less frightening which had shown a rapid decline in between 2009- 2014.

In the midst of such anti-democratic notions peddled by politicians, what is really consoling that, the people of the country have a robust resolve not to allow the democracy being sullied by such cheap slogans.
