Goods Train Derails: A major derailment occurred on the Kottavalasa–Kirandul (KK) railway line when 25 wagons of a loaded iron ore goods train derailed near Chimidipalli at around 13:05 hrs. The incident took place in the Araku–Kottavalasa section under the Waltair Division of the East Coast Railway.

Senior railway officials rushed to the site to assess the situation and oversee restoration efforts. A Relief Train was promptly dispatched to carry out restoration operations. The affected line is predominantly used for freight traffic.

In the wake of the derailment, some passenger trains operating between Visakhapatnam and Kirandul have been diverted via Vizianagaram and Rayagada. Railway authorities have mobilized all necessary resources to ensure swift restoration of the line and minimize disruption.
