Hello Sikkim: After traversing 06 states, inspiring thousands of youths to join defence forces, felicitating naval veterans enroute and promoting joint manship. the khamree mo sikkim car rally reached the temple city of India, Bhubaneswar on 10th October 23.
The rally, flagged off from Kolkata on 10th October 23 was welcomed by the local naval veteran sand Kalinga Sports Club with zeal and enthusiasm. The team leader of the car rally interacted with and apprised the media about the objectives of the expedition.
The team will be actively conducting the awareness programme about various career opportunities that the Navy offers including the Agnipath Scheme to positively impact the lives of students of remote area schools around Bhubaneswar. In addition, the rally will also interact with the students of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar on 11th October 23 and motivate the young generation to join the Indian Navy.
The car rally Khamree Mo Sikkim was flagged off on 24th September 23from INS Shivaji, Lonavala by Commodore Mohit Goel, Commanding Officer, INS Shivaji. The expedition planned over 22 days is partnered with M/s Maruti Suzuki India Limited along with Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (as fuel partner). The entire event is divided into three legs.
The team successfully conducted an outreach programme in the initial leg at various schools and colleges and interacted with sister services and veteran sat M how, Jhansi, Lucknow, Varanasi and Bagdogra. The second leg covers to Sikkim starting from Gangtok where the team facilitated the local veterans and gave engaging presentations and interactive sessions to provide insights into life in the Indian Navy in Sikkim Manipal University and Paljor Namgyal Girls’ School, Gangtok inspiring the young ladies to dawn the whites and serve the oceans.
In addition, the team visited the remote area of Sikkim to interact with the local children and interacted with the Governor of Sikkim Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya on 04th October 23 at Raj Bhavan. The rally is in its final third leg which encompasses Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Pune and culminates at INS Shivaji Lonavala.
