Hemant may return as CM: The Executive President of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, and former Chief Minister Hemant Soren have called a crucial meeting of the legislature party of the INDIA bloc today to discuss the political situation in the state. The meeting has been convened after close-door consultations between Chief Minister Champai Soren and Hemant Soren.
The meeting will be held at 11 a.m. at the official residence of the Chief Minister. Legislators from JMM, Congress, and RJD have been instructed to ensure their presence in the meeting. The INDIA Bock MLAs meeting is also likely to hold a discussion on the possible changes to the state leadership, as there is speculation that MLAs might propose reinstating Hemant Soren as Chief Minister.
The meeting is being held days after the release of Hemant Soren from jail on June 28 by the Jharkhand High Court in the alleged land scam. Meanwhile, the official programmes of Chief Minister Champai Soren have been cancelled today in view of the crucial meeting. Yesterday’s programmes on Champai Soren were also cancelled.
