Indian Railways Carries Over 1.5 Crore Passengers This Festive Season

Indian Railways

Indian Railways has ferried more than 1.5 crore passengers so far through trains in festival season. The number is expected to exceed 2.5 crore by the end of the festive period. To ensure smoother crowd management, 30 major stations in Bihar and nearby areas in UP have been equipped with large holding areas.

In recent years, significant investment in railway infrastructure has led to remarkable progress. The number of special trains, which were only a few hundred earlier, has now risen to a record-breaking number. Track construction has also increased significantly, from just 400–600 km per year about a decade back to over 4,000 km per year today.

Indian Railways’ Efforts to Ensure Convenient Travel for Passengers During the Festive Season

Railway staff are working round the clock to assist passengers and maintain order so that everyone can reach home safely for the festivals.

With Chhath Puja ongoing, Railways has further strengthened arrangements to handle the peak travel period.

Stations in Bihar are preparing for the festive rush with holding areas, extra ticket counters, CCTV monitoring, and other facilities to enhance passenger convenience.

At Patna Railway Station, a dedicated holding area has been set up for passengers’ convenience during the festive season. To ensure safety and security, round-the-clock monitoring is being carried out through CCTV surveillance.
