Lok Sabha Elections: Prime Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Narendra Modi today addressed a public rally in Latur starting his speech by highlighting the renowned Latur Pattern in the realm of education, which has significantly contributed to the region’s identity.
In his address, Mr. Modi emphasized the need for stability and strong leadership to ensure the country’s progress and security.
Criticising the Congress party, Mr. Modi accused it of orchestrating a scheme to siphon off the wealth of the people, not only for the present generation but also for the future. He contrasted the pace of development before and after 2014, underlining the significant strides made across various sectors like automobile manufacturing and defence.
Mr. Modi urged first-time voters to research the situation before 2014 to understand the transformation that has taken place in the country since then. He highlighted the government’s firm stance against cross-border terrorism and its commitment to national security, referencing the successful surgical strikes.
Reaffirming his commitment to social justice, Mr. Modi assured that the reservation for SC, ST, and OBC communities would remain intact. He criticized the Congress for hindering the emergence of leadership from these communities in the past, contrasting it with the NDA government’s efforts to uplift millions of families through various welfare schemes.
Mentioning the water crisis in Latur, Mr. Modi underscored the government’s prioritization of water resource management while accusing the Congress of obstructing irrigation projects. He highlighted the NDA government’s achievements in providing access to clean water and improving education infrastructure, urging voters to participate actively in the upcoming elections.
BJP has nominated sitting MP Sudhakar Shringare from Latur Lok Sabha Constituency, while the Congress has fielded Dr. Shivaji Kalge. Latur is set to go to polls in the third phase on May 7.
