Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ) marked its 14th Establishment Day with a blend of reflection, gratitude, and forward-looking aspirations. The occasion, celebrated on campus, saw active participation from university leadership, faculty, staff, and students.
The day commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Nitu Bhatnagar, Provost, Manipal University Jaipur, who extended heartfelt appreciation to the entire MUJ community — from founding members to alumni, faculty, students, and parents — for their continuous support in shaping MUJ into one of India’s most sought-after higher education institutions.
Highlighting the university’s commitment to global priorities, Dr. Amit Soni, Registrar, MUJ, delivered a presentation outlining the alignment of the university’s initiatives with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). “From promoting alternative energy sources and environmental protection to minimizing plastic usage, reducing water consumption, and recycling wastewater — MUJ has been proactive in integrating sustainability into its programs,” Dr. Soni noted. He also announced the university’s latest eco-friendly initiative: setting up an in-house bottling plant to replace plastic water bottles with reusable glass bottles across the campus.
In a special video message, Prof. N N Sharma, President, MUJ, reflected on the university’s journey. “Establishment Day is not just a celebration — it’s a moment to remember our past, embrace the present, and plan for a brighter future. Through our passion, perseverance, and dedication to quality education, we have carved a niche for ourselves, and we remain committed to fostering innovation and high performance,” he said.
Echoing this sentiment, Prof. Karunakar A Kotegar, Pro-President, MUJ, emphasized the importance of holistic education. “This day reminds us to consistently give our best in all aspects of education and research so that we can realize the vision and mission of MUJ 2.0,” he remarked.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from Deans, Associate Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments, faculty members, and administrative staff, reinforcing the collective spirit that has driven MUJ’s growth over the years.
As the university moves into its 15th year, the celebrations served as both a tribute to its achievements and a reaffirmation of its commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and sustainability.
