Mann Ki Baat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his latest edition of ‘Mann Ki Baat,’ highlighted India’s remarkable achievements in the field of space science, celebrating ISRO’s 100th rocket launch. He termed this milestone as a testament to India’s growing prowess in space exploration.

Reflecting on India’s journey in space, PM Modi emphasized the country’s evolution from humble beginnings to becoming a global space leader. He recalled ISRO’s significant accomplishments, including Chandrayaan, Mangalyaan, Aditya L-1, and the record-setting launch of 104 satellites in a single mission. He also noted that in the past decade alone, around 460 satellites have been launched, many belonging to other countries, showcasing India’s credibility in the space sector.

Another key highlight of the PM’s address was the increasing participation of women in space science. He expressed happiness over the growing number of young scientists and innovators in the space sector, which now includes numerous start-ups and private companies contributing to technological advancements.

‘One Day as a Scientist’ Initiative Ahead of National Science Day

As India prepares to celebrate National Science Day, PM Modi proposed an engaging idea—‘One Day as a Scientist.’ He encouraged students and young minds to visit research labs, planetariums, or space centers to enhance their curiosity and interest in science. He emphasized that such initiatives could ignite scientific temper among the youth.

India’s Rise in Artificial Intelligence

The Prime Minister also spoke about India’s rapid advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI). He shared his experience from a recent AI conference in Paris, where India’s progress was widely appreciated. Citing a unique example, PM Modi lauded Thodasam Kailash, a government schoolteacher in Adilabad, Telangana, who is using AI tools to compose songs in tribal languages like Kolami. His innovative efforts are playing a crucial role in preserving and promoting indigenous languages.

Saluting ‘Nari Shakti’ on International Women’s Day

As the nation prepares to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8, PM Modi paid tribute to the immense contribution of women in various fields. He reiterated India’s deep-rooted respect for women, drawing from ancient scriptures and historical examples. Quoting the words of Hansa Mehta, a prominent freedom fighter and Constitution maker, he recalled her inspiring speech while presenting India’s national flag in the Constituent Assembly. Mehta had underlined the sacrifices made by Indian women in the country’s freedom struggle and their unwavering commitment to nation-building.

India’s Sporting Prowess at the National Games

The PM lauded the recent National Games held in Uttarakhand, where over 11,000 athletes showcased their talent. He acknowledged the excellent performance of Uttarakhand athletes, which helped the state secure the 7th position. PM Modi congratulated the Services team for winning the most gold medals and praised young athletes such as Sawan Barwal, Kiran Mhatre, Tejas Shirse, and Jyoti Yaraji for their remarkable performances. He also highlighted teenage champions like 15-year-old shooter Gavin Antony and 16-year-old hammer thrower Anushka Yadav, underscoring India’s bright sporting future.

Protecting India’s Unique Wildlife

PM Modi highlighted India’s rich biodiversity, emphasizing the importance of conserving endangered species like the Asiatic Lion, Hangul, Pygmy Hog, and Lion-tailed Macaque. He commended the efforts of indigenous communities such as the Soliga tribe in Karnataka for their role in wildlife conservation. Special mention was made of Anuradha Rao, known as the ‘Deer Woman,’ for her decades-long dedication to protecting deer and peacocks in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
