Remembering Shri Ramoji Rao: Today, on the first death anniversary of Shri Ramoji Rao, we remember a towering personality whose vision transformed Indian media, journalism, and entertainment. A pioneer, entrepreneur, and cultural icon, Ramoji Rao garu was much more than a media baron — he was a visionary who shaped narratives and connected communities.
He was the trailblazer of vernacular television and language journalism in India. Through his ETV network, he provided a platform for a new generation of journalists from every corner of the country, giving voice to regional stories and empowering local talent. His belief in the strength of regional languages and cultures elevated Indian journalism to unprecedented heights.
I had the privilege of working under his dynamic leadership for over a decade — years that left an indelible mark on my professional and personal life. To witness his extraordinary clarity of thought, relentless pursuit of excellence, and unwavering commitment to ethical journalism was a rare honour. His ability to foresee trends, embrace innovation, and nurture young talent was truly inspirational.
Ramoji Rao’s contribution to cinema is equally remarkable. Ramoji Film City, the world’s largest film studio complex, stands as a living symbol of his limitless imagination and enterprise.
As I pay homage to legendary figure today, I do so not just in admiration of the empire he built, but with deep gratitude for the values he instilled in so many of us — courage, creativity, and uncompromising integrity. His legacy will forever guide and inspire those privileged to have walked a part of their journey alongside him. Om Shanti.
