SOA And SUM Hospital: The faculties of engineering and technology, law and business management of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA) here have won the Times Now Business Excellence Award (East) for 2025 after being chosen as the top institutes in eastern region.
The three institutes are Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), SOA National Institute of Law (SNIL) and Institute of Business and Computer Studies (IBCS).
Besides, five departments of the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital, faculty of medicine of SOA, have been chosen as the best in Odisha. The departments are Oncology, Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, Urology, Neurology and Nephrology.
The awards were presented at a hotel in Kolkata recently by Bollywood actor Nimrat Kaur in the presence of Bollywood actor Parambrata Chatterjee, film makers Nandita Roy and Siba Prasad Mukherjee, film director Raj Chakraborty and Assistant Vice President of Times Now Network Mr. Biman Dutta.
Mr. Ripti Ranjan Dash, SOA’s Director, Corporate Relations and Industry Engagement, and Ms. Subhadarshini Mishra, SOA’s Public Relations Officer received the awards.
ITER and SNIL were ranked 26th and 9th in the country earlier by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2024.

Engineering, Management, Pharmacy and Hotel Management Programs have been accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), Govt. of India. The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and its undergraduate programme – B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture have been accredited by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The Faculty of Medical Science has been accredited by NABH and the laboratories by NABL.
SOA has been recognized as Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Govt. of India and has also received UGC Section 12(B) status. It has been awarded Dimond University Rating for outstanding performance by QS-I-GAUGE and is recognized as Institution of Happiness (IOH) in the University & College category by QS-I-GAUGE.
