Stone Pelter: On receipt of credible information from reliable source, Officer and staff of RPF post Balangir conducted a raid in the morning near Dipika Bike Garage situated at Shankar Bhaji chowk on Balangir-Bargarh highway, where one suspect Akash Dang was working as a helper.
At about 08.40 hrs two person came to the aforesaid Garage and opened its Shutter (Door). In the meantime the team surrounded both of them. On asking, one of them disclosed their name and address as Akash Dang, age about 20 yrs, s/o Sri Anadi Dang, r/o Padiabahal, PS-Puintala, Dist-Balangir, Odisha.
The team later verified his photos and detained him after disclosing their identity. On questioning regarding his presence on the night of 04.10.2023 at 21.30 hrs on the track with his friends, he disclosed that he was present at the Railway track near his village for defecation with his friend Biswajeet Karmi & Ratha Karmi at that time. On being asked about pelting of stone on train near the LC gate No.669/7-9. He could not reply satisfactorily and tried to mislead the team.
On further examination he confessed his offence of throwing a stone towards a running train in a playful manner which was coming from Balangir in between LC gates at different places in the section while speaking on the phone.
The apprehended person has been handed over to GRPS Balangir wherein a case No. 17/2023 dated 06.10.2023 was registered u/s 427 of IPC and 151 & 152 of Rly Act. Case was detected and case could be registered with GRP due to the sincere efforts of PC/BLGR and his Team.
On further examination he confessed his offence of throwing a stone towards a running train in a playful manner which was coming from Balangir in between LC gates at different places in the section while speaking on the phone.
