BJP announces intensifying movement in Bengal to end Mamata’s “dictatorial regime

West Bengal

BJP leaders Kailash Vijayvargiya and Dilip Ghosh today condemned police lathicharge and lobbing of teargas shells on “peaceful” Lalbazar march to protest deteriorating law and order situation in West Bengal, and said the movement against Mamata Banerjee will be intensified until end of TMC’s “dictatorial” regime.

Vijayvargiya said he never had seen such an alleged attack by the policemen on peaceful marchers, much ahead of Lalbazar, city police headquarters, and said today’s rally was suspended after a senior police officer admitted that 50,000 supporters, who were arrested, have been released.

Vijayvargiya said he wondered how police charged the water cannon and teargas shells when many MPs and women were leading the march from Wellington Square.

BJP leader Raju Banerjee, who was hit by a teargas shell was admitted to hospital, said state party president Dilip Ghosh.

Ghosh said they were protesting the killing of BJP supporters at Nazat and deteriorating law and order situation, but the “dictatorial” Mamata Banerjee’s directive was followed by resorting to charging water canons, lobbing teargas shells and using lathis on B B Ganguly Street.

He said four BJP supporters were killed in Nazat, but the bodies of two were found only. Two years ago, the BJP had organised a similar march to the Kolkata Police Headquarters, during which clashes were witnessed between BJP workers and cops.
