New Delhi, Feb 2 (UNI) The Congress, on Saturday, reconstituted the Tamil Nadu state unit and appointed a number of committees in Lakshdweep to look after the election process before the Lok Sabha elections. In a press release issued by AICC general secretary, organisation-in-charge KC Venugopal said that the party has appointed KS Alagiri as president of Tamil Nadu Pradesh Congress. H.Vasantha Kumar, K.Jayakumar, MK Vishnu Prasad and Mayura Jayakumar were appointed as working presidents. “The party appreciates the contribution of outgoing TNCC president Thirunavakkarasar,” the release stated. India on Saturday issued a ‘demarche’ to the US Embassy here on the ‘detention’ of Indian students in America in the “pay-and-stay” university visa scam. New Delhi/Washington, Feb 2 (UNI) The Indian embassy in the US has opened a 24/7 hotline to assist 129 Indian students arrested by the American authorities in the “pay-and-stay” university visa scam, official sources said.
