Hitting hard on Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath over his criminal background, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has claimed that how a person who has criminal case lodged against him was terming him instead of criminal intention in going to Prayagraj.
” There is enough proof that UP CM and his deputy have several criminal cases lodged against them, while there is not a single FIR against me. But still the BJP is saying that my intention to go to Prayagraj was an effort to disturb law and order,” he said while showing the election affidavit of Yogi and his deputy Keshav Prasad Maurya in a placard to the reporters at a press conference on Tuesday.
Mr Yadav also expressed surprise on how the UP police entered the tarmac of the airport to stop him from boarding the aircraft.
” The security of the airport is the sole authority of the CISF, controlled by the Central government. But entry of UP police at the tarmac shows that the Central government too is involved in the conspiracy to prevent me from going to Prayagraj,” he alleged.
The SP president said he was invited to Allahabad University Union function way back on December 27 and he had sought permission from the authorities thereafter. ” The authorities kept mum on the issue and even till date they have not given permission for the visit saying that political leaders are not invited in any educational programme,” he said.
” Is the BJP and the Yogi government afraid of the students,” he questioned while appealing to his supporters and the students to agitate over the issue peacefully and through democratic way.
