Hungama founder and CEO Neeraj Roy on Thursday said that estimated 500 million internet users will be subscribing to a bouquet of content in the next five years, in which videos will be in the driver’s seat.
Mr Roy said the digital concept in the country has changed completely. He was speaking at the first day of the 13th India Digital Summit, organised by the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI).
Shemaroo Entertainment CEO Hiren Gada were of the same opinion. He said while the catch up content from television is less consumed, short-form contents are in vogue these days.
While web series are likely to be less consumed in full and Indian audience mostly up for it to stay in loop or be a part of conversations, he exuded confidence about the increasing audience pull of original contents in the OTT platforms of Indian market, the two said.
The day one at the summit saw a session on emerging tech.
Dilip R S, Country Manager-India, Alexa Skills (ASK), Amazon said customer dealing is not about communications anymore, but real-time conversations.
And that’s indeed boosting up the relation between brands and its customers.
Adobe India Head-Marketing Sundar Madakshira talked about the massive opportunities for the digital media in this country and discussed the future of work, marketing and technology in this sphere.
According to him, now people buy an experience instead of a product and hence it is important to make it communicating, long-lasting, trusted, delightful and yet available at an affordable price.(UNI)
