Assembly Elections: Counting of votes for polls in five states progressing smoothly

New Delhi: The counting of votes for Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa, and Manipur is progressing smoothly.

In Uttar Pradesh, out of a total of  403 seats that went to polls, trends are available for 336 seats. Ruling BJP is leading in 215 seats and SP in 89 seats. Congress is leading in 3 seats, BSP in 5, RLD in 6 and Apna Dal in 9, and others in 9.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is leading in Gorakhpur Urban. BJP Candidate  Sidharth Nath Singh is leading in Allahabad West. Former Chief Minister and SP leader Akhilesh Yadav is leading in Karhal seat.

In Uttarakhand, out of a total of  70 seat trends are available for 63 seats. BJP is leading in 44 seats, Congress in 15, BSP in 2, and Independents in 2 seats.

In Punjab, trends are available for all 117  Assembly seats. AAP is leading in 89, Congress in 13, SAD in 7, BJP in 5, BSP 2, and Independent 1.

Former Punjab Chief Minister and President of Punjab Lok Congress Captain Amarinder Singh is trailing behind the AAP candidate Ajit Pal Singh Kohli in Patiala. SAD patriarch Prakash Singh Badal is trailing behind his  AAP rival Gurmit Singh Khudian. Punjab Congress Chief Navjot Singh Sidhu is leading in Amritsar East over his nearest rival Vikramjit Singh Majithia of SAD.

In Manipur, out of a total of  60 seat trends are available for 37 seats. Ruling BJP is leading in 15, Congress in 5, National People’s Party 5, NPF 5, JDU 4, RPI (Athawale) 1, and Independent 1. BJP leader and Chief Minister N Biren Singh is leading Heingang.

In Goa, trends are available for all 40 seats. Ruling BJP is leading in 18, Congress in 12, Maharashtrawadi Gomantak 5, Goa Forward Party 1, AAP 1, and Independents 3.

Chief Minister and BJP candidate Pramod Sawant is trailing behind the Congress candidate Dharmesh Saglani in Sanquelim Constituency.  Former chief minister Manohar Parrikar’s son Utpal Parikar is trailing behind the BJP candidate Atanasio Monserrate in Panaji constituency. Congress Digambar Kamat is leading in Margao.
