The Congress party in India now looks boarding a rocking boat as does the Odisha State unit. The deliriums on both the ends are endemic although both have different symptoms.
What has now surfaced at the national level is all about the family dynasty that is being proffered as the main reason behind the party’s hackneyed state. Going by reports emerging from a few Congress quarters, that, the party may continue to suffer under the trio, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
And this is in the backdrop of a reality that, many capable youngsters in the party reluctantly keep genuflecting before a visionless high command unable to deliver.
Worse is that the above trio is in no mood to read the writings on the wall and more so Rahul Gandhi, who is still the notionally accepted face of the party, hardly ever indulge in introspection.
Who, neither has fresh ideas nor the ability to synergise the party workers with anything other than the rants against the NDA. Those sometimes lower down to the standards not behooving a leader who nurtures dreams of becoming a prime minister of the country.
Some observers complain, tongue in cheek, that the BJP politically relishes the poster-boy image of Rahul because, it pays in it’s favour.
Odisha Congress
However, in contrast, in Odisha, it is a cyclic weariness of sorts, that the party faces. A situation where intolerance towards each other is shockingly pervasive for last more than twenty five years almost.
Even after being decimated to an ignoble third in the state, a fanatical zealotry remains the routine pursuit .
However, the difference between Delhi and Odisha is that, in Odisha there is always a ready-to-go to Delhi group to complain against the state PCC heads, whereas, at the national level, there are a lot of aggrieved souls, tired of the family, but there must be something that leaves them mummed.
They all realise that Sonia is overworked and Rahul Gandhi is an worn out face, and Priyanka sometimes getting bewildered by self-esteem.
