New Delhi, Nov 23 (UNI) Congratulating the people of Maharashtra, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Saturday said Devendra Fadnavis becoming the chief minister was an honour of their mandate and the ‘khichdi’ that was cooking was ‘grossly anti-mandate’.
‘Devendra Fadnavis, Congratulations on becoming the Chief Minister of Maharashtra again. His becoming CM is an honor for the mandate because the khichdi that was cooking was grossly anti-mandate,’ he said in a series of tweets. Javadekar said the people of Maharashtra are victorious and congratulated them.
He lashed out at the Shiv Sena, saying ‘How absurd the argument of Shiv Sena is — If Shiv Sena goes with the NCP it is good and if NCP MLAs come with Maharashtra BJP, it is bad. Today what has been honoured is Peoples’ Mandate’.
Javadekar said people had voted BJP Maharastra alliance. ‘Shiv Sena betrayed people & peoples’ mandate & decided to go with the Congress, which opposed Ram Mandir and Veer Savarkar,’ he said in his missive. He said Shiv Sena was happy to go with the Congress, ‘which is synonymous to corruption & had imposed Emergency’.
After a month long political deadlock in the state of Maharashtra, Bhartiya Janata Party’s Devendra Fadnavis took oath as the 19th Chief Minister of the state for a second term this morning while National Conference Party’s Ajit Pawar was sworn in as Deputy CM. The oath was administered by Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, here at the Raj Bhawan.
The surprising move comes a day after NCP President Sharad Pawar indicated that a consensus has been evolved on Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray for the top post.
After taking oath of Chief Minister, Fadnavis said that before the assembly elections in Maharashtra, we had an alliance with the Shiv Sena, but after the election, Shiv Sena was trying to break our alliance and form a government with Congress and NCP.
“I would like to express my gratitude to NCP’s Ajit Pawar ji, he took this decision to give a stable government to Maharashtra & come together with BJP. Some other leaders also came with us and we staked claim to form government,” he said.
