May be some hours to go and the state of Maharashtra would come under a President’s rule and the most disgusting reason being the stalemate between the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Shiv Sena that has nearly overshoot its limit of constitutional ethics, let alone the political discipline that BJP keeps trumpeting around.
BJP wants a five year term under Debendra Fadnavis and Shiv Sena is not ready to budge from its pound of flesh, 50-50 power sharing, a combo of a vexatious politicking that has benumbed the entire nation for last two weeks almost.
This is the dark-under belly of the power hungry leaders who otherwise never refrain from making tall claims over service to the people who bring everything on their way, power, wealth and an unending acquisitiveness for more.
At whose cost the theatre of such absurdity is being perpetuated is not known and there is none to explain who foots the bills for the splurge of public money in hotels and resorts to keep the MLAs like hostages.
The string puling, in between, the NCP and the Congress, to put a finger on any pie is no less confusing for the people who voted all these leaders to victory.
It is a stupendous political conundrum forced upon a state. What is interesting that, neither of the stake-holders has made any cool headed attempt to strike a solution to the stalemate.
The need of the hours is both the parties are required to come to a negotiating table with hands down rather than a power-struck tug of war shaming the politics of the day.
