Rohit Sharma brilliant knock 140 off 113, skipper Virat Kohli 77 off 65 and Kuldeep Yadav’s 2/32 were the factors that helped India beat Pakistan by 89 runs D/L method in the ICC Cricket World Cup at Old Trafford on Sunday.
This was Rohit’s 24th ODI century while Virat Kohli also created another milestone in his ODI career becoming the fastest to reach 11,000 runs surpassing cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar’s record.
Rohit Sharma was also adjudged Man of the Match for his brilliant 140.
The run machine from 222 innings became the fastest to achieve this feat breaking the previous record set by Tendulkar who took 276 innings.
Kohli who scored 57 runs against Pakistan here in the ICC Cricket World Cup accomplished this feat.
The Indian skipper has also became the third Indian and ninth in the world to reach the 11,000 mark. From 220 ODIs, Virat’s average is 59.47. He holds the best score of 183 runs in the ODI format.
