Jitters before being an Indian, from the cradle to grave!

Dating back to some years, there were no jitters over one’s identity. No birth certificates, no Adhaars and not even death certificates. From the cradle to the grave, it was all free for anyone to claim himself or herself as an Indian.

Perhaps, the horoscope was all about that led the society to matrimonial status and the matriculation certificate was the robust proof for any academic pursuit.

Subsequently, some paper works came into action through driving licence and then voter id and Pan cards.

However, things changed later when the concept of Adhaar was pushed in hard regardless of the fact that, it had a few monstrous impact on people’s tolerance level. A hectic exercise that was, standing in queues, waiting on the outlets opened at banks or other places.

The pain behind the patience was like a purulent infection on the level of tolerance as one has to abandon the days’ schedules to squat at the venues where a cynical look from a peevish clerk measures your patience. After a protracted quizzing you are let to go from there to reappear next week.

Now on wards things may change. Forget about yourself, you have to have a research on your parents’ progeny along with yours for being a legitimate descendant of the family. CAA may not have much to do with but, NRC, if, will have a real bearing on all of us.

In fact, it is not the question of a bona fide Indian but the load of formalities those may crush you down. Obviously, the time is not far when a surveillance may breath down your neck. When a querulous lot from the officialdom would get your nerves tweaked for a long time at least.
