Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ) was hailed as the “Model Educational Institution of Vikshit Bharat” by Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Education, Government of India, during his visit to the campus today. The Minister was in Jaipur to inaugurate the university’s newly constructed Lecture Hall Complex (LHC).
Expressing his admiration for the architectural splendour of the MUJ campus, Shri Pradhan lauded the university’s achievements in higher education and innovation. In his address, the Union Minister highlighted Rajasthan’s historic role in preserving the unity and sovereignty of India and appreciated the university’s progressive initiatives.
He urged the academic community at MUJ to nurture job-creators rather than jobseekers, and to align academic pursuits with societal needs. “Manipal University Jaipur should evolve from being an academic and research institution to a centre of innovation and solutions for global challenges,” he remarked. On this occasion, Shri Pradhan also planted a sapling of the Sindoor plant in the university premises, symbolising growth and sustainability.
The grand inauguration ceremony was graced by several dignitaries, including Ms. Manju Sharma, Member of Parliament from Jaipur, and Dr. Kailash Chand Verma, MLA from Bagru. Senior officials from the Manipal Education and Medical Group (MEMG) — Dr. Ranjan Pai, Chairman; Shri Abhay Jain, Advisor — along with Dr. N N Sharma, President, MUJ; Dr. Karunakar A Kotegar, Pro-President, MUJ; and Dr. Amit Soni, Registrar, MUJ, were also present.
Dr. Ranjan Pai and Dr. N N Sharma extended a formal welcome to the Chief Guest with a memento and shawl. In his welcome address, Dr. Karunakar A Kotegar highlighted the rich legacy of the Manipal group in transforming the educational landscape of the country. A presentation on MUJ’s achievements and future aspirations was delivered by Dr. N N Sharma.
Addressing the gathering, Ms. Manju Sharma acknowledged the university’s vital contribution to the educational and social development of Rajasthan, while Dr. Kailash Chand Verma appreciated MUJ’s role in uplifting the socio-economic fabric of the Bagru constituency.
A vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Amit Soni, Registrar, MUJ, who expressed his gratitude to all dignitaries, invitees, and guests for their presence and support.
During the event, notable dignitaries including Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of Rajasthan; Shri Madan Dilawar, Minister of School Education, Government of Rajasthan; and Shri Bhagirath Chaudhary, Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare of India, Rajasthan, also visited the MUJ campus and extended their greetings to Shri Dharmendra Pradhan.
The newly inaugurated Lecture Hall Complex stands as a modern architectural marvel blending the heritage of Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Jaisalmer. The four-storeyed building houses eight large lecture halls, each with a minimum seating capacity of 180 students, along with a spacious food court, cafeterias, seminar halls, conference rooms, and faculty spaces — reflecting MUJ’s commitment to world-class academic infrastructure.
