Regardless of the fact that who is the person that the film is made on or the party towards which the theme tilts, objectively speaking it has to have some bearing on the minds of the people going to vote. But the clearance given by the concerned authority might throw open the scope for a debate that how at this juncture a go ahead could be given.
It is, however, a matter of common sense that any attempt to eulogise an individual or an organisation directly linked with the electoral process can not fly off the tangent of human appreciation or image building.
After a postponment of its release due to delay in clearance of the censor board, Omung Kumar’s ‘PM Narendra Modi’, the biopic on the life of the Prime Minister, will now be releasing on April 11, producer Sandip Singh said on Friday.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, the producer said,”’PM Narendra Modi’ is Officially releasing on 11th April 2019.”
Vivek Oberoi tweeted, “Thank you to each and every one of you for your blessings, love and support. Thank you to the Indian Judiciary. We hope you like the film and that it inspires you all! #PMNarendraModi Jai Hind @OmungKumar @sandip_Ssingh @sureshoberoi @anandpandit63 @TSeries”.
Omung Kumar tweeted, “Thank you everyone for your support. Here’s the date when our film #PMNarendraModi will be releasing. 11th April. Jai hind”.
incidentally the release of the film coincides with the first phase of polling for the lok Sabha elections.
The film, which was earlier scheduled for release on April 5, was postponed due to delay in clearance by the Censor board.
The movie has been wrapped in controversy with the opposition parties, including the Congress, have contended that the release of the film during the election period amounts to a violation of the model code of conduct.
However, the DEc has given a go ahead for the release of the film.
Directed by Omung Kumar, the movie traces Narendra Modi’s evolution through various phases of his life, including his enrollment in the RSS, his long stint as Chief Minister of Gujarat, and his elevation to a national role in 2014.
