Spine-chilling murder of two year old girl in UP shocks the country

Man gets death for raping, killing six-year-old girl

Leaders of various political parties on Friday expressed shock over the horrific murder of a two-year-old girl in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh district and demanded that the killers be brought to justice.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi, party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, former UP chief Minister and BSP chief Mayawati and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi demanded swift action against the culprits.

The girl’s mutilated body was found on June 3 in a garbage bin and a post-mortem report revealed that she was strangled to death and her eyes gouged out. According to the police, the child was murdered after her parents reportedly failed to give back a loan of Rs 10,000.

Police has arrested two persons and said they will investigate the matter under the National Security Act (NSA).  Expressing shock at the murder,  Gandhi asked how can any human being treat a child with such brutality.

“The horrific murder of a little girl in Aligarh, UP has shocked and disturbed me. How can any human being treat a child with such brutality? This terrible crime must not go unpunished. The UP police must act swiftly to bring the killers to justice,” he tweeted.

Expressing anguish, Priyanka said, “the brutal murder in Aligarh is yet another inhuman, unspeakable crime against an innocent child. I cannot even begin to imagine the pain her parents must feel. What has become of us”.

Mayawati demanded the UP government immediately put the culprits behind bars and mete out strict punishment under the rule of law.

“Standing with the two-year-old innocent girl, who was brutally murdered,” the BSP chief tweeted. Describing the incident as heartbreaking, Owaisi said the lack of empathy in society is an indicator of its health and added that “we have to build a safer society, especially for our kids”.

“The fact that they were completely okay with murdering a child merely over money is heartbreaking. They deserve exemplary punishment,” he tweeted.

The police said the news of the murder has created tension in the area and security has been tightened.
