Till the time the counting starts there is little that the journalists and the poll-watchers can do other than confusing the people and add to the candidates heart-beats only. There is no second opinion that the television channels have arrogated to themselves the foreteller role influencing a larger mass from the 1.30 crore Indians.
Defying any logic whatsoever in the books some channels have overstepped their limits of ethics and the anchors were seen claiming a decisive victory by Pragyan Thakur in Madhya Pradesh and even predicting a humiliating defeat for Digvijay Singh. All this despite the media blaze that Thakur had openly said that Nathuram Godse was a patriot. ‘ How could this happen ‘ asked the anchor to the panelists !
Narendra Modi went on record saying that he will not forgive Pragyan for daring to glorify the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi’s killer but nothing happened and it remains to be seen when he will punish Pragyan and how ?
How many in the Bharatiya Janat Party can swear in the name of God that they really oppose Pragyan Thakur’s stand on Godse !
Some believe that the results of the exit polls was a well-scripted ‘entertainment ‘ for the BJP and for the opposition it was a tailor-made teaser to demoralise the ‘mahagathbandhan’.
For the agencies assigned with the job of predictions, sky is the limit in their calculations. Differing figures are sometimes really nerve shattering and somewhere exit poll results showing a difference of 40 to 45 seats for the same state is indeed amusing.
Even many big bulls are puzzled over the abrupt rise in the Stock markets, jumping up to an unprecedented high. Idle thinkers like us may not know the reason but some little known experts ascribe the reason to the surge in NDA numbers via exit polls. What if the results really become so !
The monotony in television debates have become monumentally boring .
The same things like this percentage here or the that percentage there have become a long running ‘tamasa’ of sort, punctuated with entertainments like converting TV studios into open air prosceniums, even anchors shown flying off the studios into Himalayan heights to speak about only one happening thing in the country i.e exit poll.
Anyway, all said and done, the real devils are not the EVMs but their watch-dogs, some say, who sometimes possibly are seen sniffing around for reason not known. Such possible mischief often lend credence to fears about manipulations with that speechless gadget.
However, there are few hours to go before this tossing of the hilarious/scarring foretelling would stop and the nail-bites start.
