New Delhi: The last date to submit online application and fee payment for the University Grants Commission – National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) exam has been extended to May 30. In a tweet, UGC chairman M Jagadesh Kumar said in pursuant to representations from the candidates, regarding submission of online application form for UGC-NET December 2021 and June 2022, it has been decided to extend the last date for submission and fee payment to 30 May 2022.
The UGC had earlier fixed May 20 as the last date for submission of application. The UGC-NET exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) twice a year to determine the eligibility for ‘Assistant Professor’ and ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ posts in Indian universities and colleges.
The UGC-NET December 2021 and June 2022 will be held in 82 subjects in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. The slots of JRF of both UGC-NET December 2021 & June 2022 cycles have been merged while the methodology for Subject wise cum Category-wise allocation of JRF remains unchanged.
