The Public Health and Holistic Human Development Foundation has again urged the government to make health a fundamental right on lines of the right to education.
A delegation led by the foundation’s chairman Ajay Kumar met Union health minister Harsh Vardhan in New Delhi and apprised about the sufferings of the common masses due to non availability of quality hospitals and doctors at affordable cost especially in the far-flung areas.
“We have given our suggestions and apprised the minister about the alarming situation which can be handled effectively only by making health a fundamental right, which will enable easy access of common men to health facilities,” Kumar said.
The delegates also congratulated the minister for successful launch of the ambitious scheme of Ayushman Bharat.
“The minister took note of his concern and assured us that he will see as to what best can be done to improve the health care facilities,” Swasthay Sena national coordinator Dhiraj Rai said.
Besides Kumar and Rai, the delegation comprised Tanuja Sinha, secretary of Foundation of Public Health and Holistic Human Development and Ratnakar Singh, general secretary Swasthay Sena. (UNI)
