BJP president Amit Shah’s visit to Odisha is cancelled after he’s admitted in AIIMS for swine flu

Bharatiya Janata Party national president Amit Shah was on late Wednesday admitted  to the  All India Institute for Medical Sciences in New Delhi for treatment of swine flu.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Shah said: ”Mujhe swine flu hua hai, jiska upchar chal raha hai. Ishwar ki kripa, aap sab ke prem aur shubhkamnao se shighra hi swasth ho jaunga (I am diagnosed with Swine Flu, for which I am under treatment. By God’s grace, apart from the love and good wishes of you all, I will be well soon.”

According to AIIMS sources, Shah was admitted in the hospital with complaints of chest congestion and problem in breathing. He is under the supervision of a team of doctors headed by AIIMS director Randeep Guleria.

Shah had a field day in Gujarat city of Ahmedabad on Tuesday, where he participated in the kite flying festival and also visited Lord Jaganath temple in the city on the occasion of Vasi Uttarayan.

Shah was scheduled to visit Odisha on Friday, Jharkhand on Saturday and West Bengal on Sunday. Due to his hospitalisation, his Odisha visit has been cancelled, according to a party spokesperson. Shah was supposed to address a meeting in Salepur in Cuttack.

For the past few days, swine flu, a respiratory disease caused by a strain of H1N1 influenza originating from pigs, has been on the rise in the country. According to reports, it has so far claimed the lives of at least 39 persons in Rajasthan.
