Cong govt in Pondy facing toppling threat not from BJP but from Ministers: Saminathan

State BJP president V Saminathan MLA (Nominated) on Saturday said the Congress government in the union territory is facing a toppling threat not from the BJP but from its own ministers.

Talking to media after inaugurating a vehicle campaign on the membership enrollment of the party in Ariyankuppam constituency and on the salient features of the union budget, Mr Saminathan said the propaganda of Chief Minister V Narayanasamy that the BJP is threatening in Congress ruling states is not true.

On the other hand, Congress ministers and MLAs are threatening the party functionaries and cadres. He cited the example of PCC president and PWD minister A Namasivayam, the number two minister in the cabinet here boycotting the cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of chief minister Narayanasamy.

Saminathan charged that no schemes were implemented in Puducherry in the last three years of Congress rule. Those contesting the next elections in Congress ticket will be defeated and because of this fear, Namasivayam kept away from the cabinet meeting, Swaminathan added. ‘Really, the government is facing a threat from the ministers,’ he added.
