Cong president Sonia Gandhi condoles death of Arun Jaitley

The Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Saturday condoled the death of former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley, who passed away here at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. He was 66.

The Congress president expressed deep pain and distress at the untimely passing away of Arun Jaitley.

Condoling his death she said that Jaitley had a long innings as a public figure, Parliamentarian and Minister and his contributions to public life will forever be remembered.

“We are deeply saddened to hear the passing of Arun Jaitley. Our condolences to his family. Our thoughts and prayers are with them in this time of grief”, said the Congress party in it’s official twitter handle.

Arun Jaitley was admitted in AIIMS on August 9 and was being treated by a multidisciplinary team of senior doctors. He had also undergone a renal transplant on May 14 last year at AIIMS.

“Extremely saddened to learn about the demise of Arun ji. In him the nation has lost an articulate leader and an excellent human being”, said senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel. In his condolence message, AICC communication in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala said, Jaitley was an astute parliamentarian and he will always be remembered.

“Saddened to know about the demise of Shri Arun Jaitley. My deepest condolences to his family. An astute parliamentarian, he’ll always be remembered. May his soul Rest in Peace”, he tweeted.
