Dropped from Patna Sahib seat, rebel BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha may join Congress

Dropped from his Patna Sahib Lok Sabha seat, former actor and BJP rebel MP Shatrughan Sinha may join the principal opposition Congress , sources said on Saturday.

The BJP announced the name of Union Minister and vocal BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad as its candidate from the Patna Sahib parliamentary constituency in Bihar, replacing Sinha, the sitting MP from the seat.

Sources said that Sinha could join the Congress on Sunday or on March 25.

The two-time MP has fallen out with BJP after the 2015 Bihar assembly elections in 2015. He was also seen on the dais with leaders of the ‘mahagathbandhan’ at an opposition rally in Kolkata, hosted by Trinamool chief and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee.

Sinha had taken a jibe recently at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the ‘Main Bhi Chowkidar’ campaign.

Greeting the PM on Holi, Sinha said that his increasing defensive attitude towards chowkidar will remind the nation more of his unanswered questions and Rafale deal.

“Happy Holi to you, Sirji. Once again I’ll remind you politely but firmly that don’t get into the sting of the operations of #Chowkidar. The more you are defensive of Chowkidar, the more the Nation will be reminded of unanswered questions & the Rafale deal which people,” he tweeted.
