Ignoring UN appeal, Pakistan carries out successful test of Ghaznavi ballistic missile

Despite UN chief Antonio Guterres’ appeal to Pakistan to take steps to defuse tension with India, Islamabad late night on Wednesday carried out successful test launch of Ghaznavi surface-to-surface ballistic missile which is capable of delivering multiple types of warheads up to 290 kilometers, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.

“Pakistan successfully carried out night training launch of surface to surface ballistic missile Ghaznavi, capable of delivering multiple types of warheads upto 290 KMs. CJCSC [Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee]& Services Chiefs congrat [congratulate] team. President [Arif Alvi] & PM [Prime Minister Imran Khan] conveyed appreciation to team & congrats to the nation,” Armed Forces Spokesman Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor said in a tweet.

According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Imran Khan has conveyed his appreciation to the team, and congratulated the nation. The DG ISPR also shared a video of the launch in his tweet. (UNI)
