A major constituent of NDA in Bihar, JD (U) by opposing Narendra Modi government`s move on Article 370 in Rajya Sabha today took umbrage at BJP for it and indirectly accused the latter of butchering democracy.
Bihar industries minister Shyam Rajak reacting on the issue of scrapping of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir said it was a black day in the history of country today. He said democracy had been butchered today as JD (U) had taken a stand from very beginning that contentious issues should be resolved through consensus.
JD (U) principal general secretary K C Tyagi said that his party was in opposition to scrapping of Article 370. “Our party`s stand on the issue of Article 370 remains unchanged,” he added. He said JD (U) president and chief minister Nitish Kumar was marching ahead on the path of Dr Ram Manohar Lohia, Lok Naik Jai Prakash Narain and George Fernandes. It (scrapping of article 370) would have no impact on NDA in Bihar, he added.
