Naveen played to the gallery on women issue in his campaign in Kalahandi

Naveen Patnaik during his high voltage campaign in the parched bosom of Odisha, Kalahandi, has expectedly played up the women card to woo the women votes in his favour. Addressing the people in Kalahandi Patnaik dealt a left hand punch at the BJP by promising to enhance amount of health insurance under the Biju Swasthya Kalayan Yojna (BSKY) to increase to Rs.10 lakh from Rs.7 lakhs describing the women of the society as the right mile-stone for development.

Patnaik went a step ahead to say that all the daughters must be considered deserving to get free education and under Mission Shakti, there will be an outlay of Rs.5,000 crore for it.

At the same time Patnaik took a jibe at the Centre alleging that the NDA has miserably failed to enhance the minimum support price (MSP) for paddy and for backing out scholarship for meritorious Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste students.

Patnaik also attacked the BJP leaders for making politics of opportunism by ignoring Odisha in its bad times like calamities and other disasters but now thronging the state for votes.
