This time around it was almost a blast from the Biju Janata Dal supremo Naveen Patnaik aimed at his political bête noire and Lok Sabha candidate for Kendrapada Baijayant Panda during the road show in Kendrapada on Sunday.
Contrary to his soft and bold posturing against his rivals, Naveen Patnaik was unsparing in his digs at Panda, trying to blow off the lid almost.
The innuendos that Patnaik fired at his rival were explicit although he did not take the name of Panda in his speech. Patnaik was upfront to say that the former Kendrapada MP, by implication Baijayant Panda, was more interested to promote the causes of his own industry than setting up any for Kendrapada. Patnaik even took on him straight alleging that Panda was more keen on his own promotion than promoting the youth of Kendrapada.
Patnaik almost took to the political archives to pluck a point in which he recalled that how a Union minister had said that the MP of Kendrapada hardly pleaded for his constituencies and on that point Patnaik mentioned as how Panda was more interested on railway link to his industry than to Kendrapada.
