Former home minister of India P Chidambaram has been sent to 5 days, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) remand. Chidambaram is an accused in the INX Media money laundering case. The CBI court has granted 5 days remand after hearing to Chidambaram’s counsels Kapil Sibal and Abhishek Manu Sanghvi.

Given the significance of the case now it is upto the CBI to interrogate the former home minister and if required the probing agency may take Chidambaram to face the two prime accused in INX Media case, Indrani Mukherjee and Peter Mukherjee.

P Chidambarams son Katik Chidambaram is also a co-accused in the INX media case and has undergone CBI probe several times and had served jail term in the case. earlier.

The CBI court has given strict instruction saying that there should be no action that amounts to outrage the self-respect of the accused and at the same time, Chidambaram shall be allowed to talk to his counsel for a specified time period.
