Pak violates ceasefire on LoC in Rajouri

Pakistani Army yet again violated the ceasefire agreement on Tuesday and fired unprovoked along the Line of Control in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district. “Pakistan continues with nefarious designs and at about 1100 hrs on Tuesday, again initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by shelling with mortars and firing of Small Arms along LoC in Nowshera sector of Rajouri,” defence spokesman here said. He said that Indian Army retaliated strongly and effectively to cross border firing.
On Monday, Pakistan violated ceasefire by firing along LoC in Akhnoor sector of Jammu. On Friday night, a nine-month-old child among three of a family were killed while two others were injured when Pakistani troops shelled forward posts and villages in Poonch district. On Thursday, a woman was killed while three others, including an Army jawan, were injured in cross border firing as Pakistan shelled forward Border Outposts in Poonch and Rajouri districts. This is the fourteenth consecutive day that Pakistan has targeted forward posts along the Line of Control (LoC). People living close to the border have been asked to stay indoors. In 2018, the highest number of 2,936 ceasefire violations was witnessed along the Indo-Pak border triggered by Pakistan. (UNI)
