Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured Chief Minister P S Goley to work on Limboo Tamang seat reservation in State Assembly issue, in coordination with new Sikkim Krantikari Morcha Government for early fulfilment.
CM Goley has requested for early settlement of political rights of the Limboo-Tamang communities in Sikkim.
PM has also responded positively on the inclusion of 11 left out communities as Scheduled Tribes. The Communities include Rai, Gurung, Yakha, Manger, Bhujel, Sunuwar, Mukhia, Thami Khus, Newar, Jogi – Sanyasi.
CM further requested for amending the existing legislation for the inclusion of these communities. Besides these pending public demands, PM reacted to financial crisis asking CM to account for the misuse in the earlier, when he was also apprised of Teesta Urja Hydro Project having drawn a loan of Rs 11020 crores from financial institutions against State Guarantee.
