Coming at a time, as it did, the Supreme Court of India has issued notices to three state governments Karnataka, Odisha and Jharkhand. The apex court has taken serious exception to the irregularities committed in the scam worth over Rs. 6 lakh crore on which the court has also pulled up the country’s leading investigating agency the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in this matter. The latter has been served with a notice along with the three above states.
The directive from the apex court at a time when the entire country is busy in the electioneering process, the issue is very likely to create a ripple in the political circle, feel political observers. For instance, Odisha had remained in the lime light post the probe conducted by the SC appointed Shah Commission which had long back submitted its report before the apex court.
