BHUBANESWAR: The Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) at Burla will have the second Covid hospital soon.
It would be the second of its kind at VIMSAR.
Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, who visited Burla on Wednesday, announced this.
Accompanied by Additional Chief Secretary Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra and senior officials of the Health Department including the Director of Medical Education and Training and Director of Health Services, Mohapatra toured western Odisha and reviewed the Covid situation in view of the emerging second wave,
They also reviewed the situations in Jharsuguda and Bargarh districts before the review at Burla.
The second Covid care hospital will have 250 general beds with oxygen facilities and 50 intensive-care units (ICUs).
The Chief secretary along with the high level delegation toured the region as per the direction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
