After taking oath as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister amid thunderous applause from thousands of people at the IGMC stadium here on Thursday, Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy made first signature on the file enhancing old age pensions from 2,000 to 2,250.
Addressing a huge gathering, the Chief Minister said that he wants to revamp the administrative machinery and bring revolutionary changes to achieve corruption-free governance.
Mr.Reddy said “In order to bring transperency in the system, I will urge High Court Chief Justice to spare one Judge for heading judicial commission which examines the inviting and awarding of tenders for projects.
The government will follow the advises of the judicial commission. If any media house distort the facts they will face defamation case”, he added.
“I will strive to implement navaratnalu assurance as mentioned in the YSRCP manifesto” he announced, adding that the social security pensions would be enhanced up to Rs.3000 in a phased manner.
The new Chief Minister also announced that 1.60 lakh jobs would be churned out during the next few months.
Mr Reddy announced setting up of village secretariat system in every village for which 4 lakh unemployed youths in the villages would be appointed. A volunteer would be appointed to every 50 houses and the volunteer would be paid Rs.5000 as salary. The volunteers would help people to get welfare scheme benefits.
He said that he wants to complete the setting up of village secretariats in every village by August 15.
In order to do away corruption in implementing welfare schemes, he said that a call centre would be set up in the CM’s office and people could complain directly to him about corruption or denial of welfare scheme to the eligible beneficiaries.
Mr Reddy said that the contracts would be cancelled, if found irregularities and corruption.
Telangana state Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, DMK President M K Stalin, YSRCP Honorary President and Jagan Mohan Reddy’s mother Y S Vijaya Lakshmi, and Mr Reddy’s wife and sister were present during the swearing-in ceremony.
