President Ram Nath Kovind on Sunday transferred senior BJP leader Kalraj Mishra from the post of Himachal Pradesh Governor and appointed him as Governor of Rajasthan while appointing former Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya as Governor of Himachal Pradesh.
Kalraj Mishra has replaced Kalyan Singh as the Rajasthan Governor.
President Ram Nath Kovind also announced appointment of Bhagat Singh Koshyari as Governor of Maharashtra. Koshyari will replace Vidyasagar Rao.
Tamil Nadu BJP president Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan has been appointed as the Governor of Telangana, replacing ESL Narasimhan.
Arif Mohammed Khan has been appointed as the Kerala governor in place of P Sathasivam.
‘The above appointments will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices,’a Rashtrapati Bhawan communique said. (UNI)
