Two J-e-M militants arrested for planning attacks in Delhi on R-Day

(UNI) The Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested two militants associated with the Jaish-e-Mohammad outfit, who were planning to launch strikes in the national capital during the Republic Day celebrations, police said on Thursday.

The mastermind was identified as Abdul Latif Ganai alias Umair alias Dilawar, arrested on the intervening night of January 20-21, from Rajghat in the national capital, where he had come to meet an associate with incriminating materials, including a pistol of .32 with 26 live cartridges were recovered from him.

As per an input received by police, a J-e-M militant, who was also the mastermind of a spree of recent grenade attacks in Srinagar and surrounding places, was planning similar strikes in Delhi at places with heavy footfall, during the R-Day celebrations.
