Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 30 (UNI) The 10th National Conference of Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI) has resolved to fight against merger and privatization of public sector banks and demanded the Union Government to refrain from the move of merging Dena Bank and Vijaya Bank with Bank of Baroda. The Conference held from January 28 to 31 here also declared solidarity to government employees and teachers of Tamilnadu who are fighting against National Pension System (NPS).
The conference hailed the indefinite strike launched by them from January 22 against the NPS through a resolution. The conference resolved to bring up the issue of Women and decided to fight out at the atrocities against women in India.The conference felt that the right of a women to live with security and dignity seems to be in jeopardy today. Conference expresses anguish on this very pertinent issue.
The Conference in a resolution pointed out that central Government has given the corporate an opportunity to loot public money through Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code-2016.Instead of recovering the huge NPA by Corporates the Central Government is aiding corporate to escape from the big loans and gain more in the name of haircut.
